Helping Hands to Our Local Community - Supplies for School

Hope we all are getting ready for the school reopening for the year 2020 - 2021. We have been discussing in our TGROC board that to help local community. During our last board meeting held in August 2020, we decided to donate supplies for Rochester city school district.

So we contacted the volunteer coordinator for Rochester City School District few weeks ago and donated school supplies including back bags, face masks, hand sanitizers etc. for about 20 kids.

On Friday September 4th our secretary Pramoth dropped off school supplies to the principal of school #15 the Children’s school of Rochester in presence of the volunteer coordinator. In the same month we donated face masks for school kids for the Henrietta School District.

About The TGROC
We, The Tamils of Greater Rochester are forming an organization for the Tamils of Indian, Srilankan origin. We registered this association as a not for profit organization. Our objectives are i) to cultivate, promote and foster the exchange of ideas and understanding between the people of Tamil and other cultures. ii) To cultivate, promote, foster and develop the advancement of Knowledge of Tamil Language and literature and Tamil Heritage. iii) To promote fellowship and provide, organize and participate in Tamil Culture and Social functions. iv) Shall be a secular organization and will not discriminate any members by caste, creed, religion or race.
